Dentistry has never been easy for me, as I had a bad experience in the past. Dr. Cheng was excellent with explaining exactly what was going on. Denise was the assistant who took my X-rays… she phenomenal, as I was so nervous. Stephanie the hygienist was super compassionate and so personable. She made me understand things I never knew. Yasmeen the treatment coordinator sat with me and explained my dental benefits and copays… she made sure I understood what I was having done, what I was paying and how many appointments I needed. She made me feel super comfortable, which is nearly impossible as my anxiety gets the better of me. Thank you to Lakeland Modern Dentistry!

I was originally referred to this office from another dentist years ago and found them to far exceed the capability and expertise, so I switched to here and have never looked back. My family always hated going to the dentist in general since most make you feel like you are completely incapable of home dental care, but I do not get that vibe here. I like Dr. Cheng, but I really enjoy my hygienist Shaquilla - she is always cheerful and seems to care about my treatment. I hope they maintain this level of service far into the future.

This place is an absolute joke. I went in the first time October of last year for a cleaning. I showed up at 9:30, my appointment was at 9:45. No one was at the front desk. I could hear them having a meeting in the next room over which felt kind of strange because the doors were open and it wasn’t like I was early. Anyway, probably about 10 am they take me back and start taking x rays and history. I sat in the room waiting for the dental hygienist to see me until close to 11 am. She finally walks in and inspects my teeth which takes probably 20 minutes and then says I’ll need to get scheduled for a “deep cleaning” which I found kind of surprising because typically when I’ve gone in to see a dentist, even the first time, they clean your teeth anyway. But they tell me they can fit me in an hour and I figured I was there so I might as well wait. The dentist also comes in and tell me that I need an inlay and that they would be able to work me in after my cleaning if I wanted it done today. Fast forward to about 1 pm and I have finished the cleaning and am now waiting for the dentist. She comes in and starts working, she explains they use a 3d printer for the inlay and I don’t really care but it becomes important later. The dental assistant attempts to take a scan of my teeth multiple times and continues to have difficulty with the computer program. Then once the scan is done they have to print it which supposedly takes about 30 minutes. I sit there and wait for about an hour before they tell me that the machine is not working. Eventually it starts working I guess and they place the inlay. It is now 4:20 pm. I sat there for nearly 7 hours for one filling and a tooth cleaning. Then I get an email that they have scheduled me for another cleaning 3 months later without running the date or time by me, they just scheduled it. All of that said, I probably should have learned my lesson about this office and how it’s run but everyone there was nice and I figured maybe it was just an off day. So a couple of weeks ago I go onto their website to book a cleaning. I set the time and day for today and make the appointment. I get there and am informed by the office desk that the dentist is running very far behind and I explain to them I am just there for a cleaning, I understand the dentist typically poke their head in but if she can’t see me before my cleaning then it’s okay, I won’t wait. I am informed that my appointment was scheduled as a “continuing care appointment” and not actually a cleaning and she proceeds to explain they have an opening at 5 pm. I laughed and walked out, never to return.

So everyone around me already knows I am petrified of the dentist but from the time I made my appointment over the phone and walked into the office I felt a sense of security with everyone in that building. I didn’t feel pressured to do any procedures and I was well educated about everything from gum disease, steps to each recommended procedures , types of sedations , payment plans/co-pays etc. I recently had 5 tooth removed (literally a few days ago) and when I tell you I haven’t had any discomfort or pain ( pain management meds were sent to pharmacy in a timely fashion) I love , love this place. I don’t have any regrets choosing this dental office.

I have been going to this practice for about 3 years. Over the years the dentist removed a bridge and pulled 2 teeth with the plan of replacing them with implants, only to find out that my gum cannot support them and she doesn’t recommend a partial. I was then scheduled with a periodontist and she made some recommendations. My care manager said that she would get a plan together and call me, but she didn’t call. I called the office twice but she wasn’t available. That was 6 months ago. Since my last visit the dentist left and there is new dentist. He wants me to see the periodontist again. I have decided to find another dental practice.
